About Boongala Gardens
Boongala Native Gardens and Rainforest is an 11 acre property located in Kenthurst, NSW. These extensive gardens have been developed over a number of years by Mal and Jenny Johnston. The property also includes a lush rainforest, which has been maturing for the last 25 years. When you visit Boongala you will discover a wide range of Australian plants, wildflowers and the birdlife they attract.
Boongala Gardens is a great place to spend the day with your family. There are tables and chairs available to those who would like to have a picnic lunch within the gardens (no BBQs please). A large range of native plants are for sale on site at the gardens. These include bird-attracting, rainforest and bushtucker plants. These plants are available in various sizes (tubestock and larger). |
The gardens open once a year to the public, during Spring (Dates will be advised by our email mailing list, and on the 'Home' page of this website)

School Excursions
The gardens are available for school excursions throughout the year. Guided garden and rainforest tours covering the topics of Australian flora, bushtucker and rainforest ecosystems are included. The property is also home to a variety of Australian birds, reptiles and native bees, that are often seen during tours.
There is ample space within the gardens for students to have their recess/lunch break.
$5 per student (maximum 30 students per visit)
